During a multi-faceted career, spanning over forty years, Jack Morris Rains has been recognized by his peers for his contributions and achievements in Law, Design and Construction , Business, as well as Public Service. His public service includes serving as the 95th Secretary of the State of Texas his candidacy for Governor of Texas in 1990. Today, Mr. Rains is Of Counsel to the Houston and Dallas law firm of Looper, Reed & McGraw (http://www.lrmlaw.com). He has been responsible for any number of matters with amounts in controversy representing a substantial portion of his client's assets.
- Rains was a co-founder and serves as Chairman of Tuscany Advisors L.L.C . (http://www.tuscanyadvisors.com), whose clients have included: E-Stamp , the fifth licensee in the history of the U.S. Postal Service, and the first to provide personal computer issued postage. Its assets were subsequently acquired by Stamps.Com (http://www.stamps.com). Tuscany also participated in the early stage development of Commerciant Holdings (http://www.commerciant.com) the creator of the first affordable wireless, Internet-enabled credit card and check processing terminals. Another Tuscany client was ClicknPrint (http://www.extremetix.com) an internet ticketing firm.
- Rains was a Founding Director of Tanglewood Bank N.A., built in just over ten years to $250 Million Dollars in assets and then sold to Northern Trust of Chicago.
